What to see in San Sebastian ?
26 places curated by Hozy - landmarks, nature, hidden restaurants and activities.
MAP · OVERVIEW
San Sebastián plays by its own rules. The Basque city has built a serious culinary identity around its pintxos and Michelin-starred restaurants, but what strikes you first is the balance between the Concha beach and a dense old town that buzzes in the evenings, where bars in the Gros neighbourhood draw locals as readily as visitors.
The best period runs from May to October, with a peak in July–August to anticipate: hotels are booked months in advance. Three days are enough to explore the Parte Vieja and reach Mount Igueldo on foot or by funicular. Avoid eating at restaurants directly on the waterfront-all the worthwhile places are just two streets back.
